The sonicare will do a better job at brushing their teeth with the sonic action, getting to areas where the bristles might not actually get to. However, even with that said, I would not let my 2 year old use the brush on their own, I always brushed his teeth FOR him. They can do a lot of damage to the soft tissues with a brush like this, on their own. It does a have grippy bump plate . However Its identical in size tom adult sonic.
