Used on our long haired dog and this works superbly! Even with a serious mat, with a little time and some massaging into the mat, it releases and then does not re-tangle quickly. It leaves a nice, clean scent and the hair feels good afterwards for a long time. Extremely pleased and as you need to use very little, it lasts a long time. Will always have it on hand, if needed.

This is the only product we've found that gets the tangles out of my granddaughter's waist length hair. Really smooths and conditions. I use it on my much shorter hair to soften and defrizz.

I have used this product for over 30 yrs. It is amazing for detangling manes and tails. Yours hands will feel good too, because this is one that you need to work in, then comb. It leaves such a glisten and smells amazing! Hard to hold on to the bottle because it is slippery, but I wear a apron with pockets!! (I know how to do this!!) LOL

I have a 3 1/2 year-old thoroughbred/quarter horse and for some reason his mane and tail gets so knotted when he’s turned loose in our pasture. Somebody had recommended this to me because I was looking for some thing that I could put on dry because I don’t want to be putting him in cross ties and giving him a bath every few days. I was completely blown away the first time I use this product. he had a huge knot in his tail and with Almost no effort and just a little bit of this product and a brush I was able to get it out and the brush glided through his tail like it never had a knot in it. I will absolutely thousand percent be buying this again!

My horses love cockleburrs. They must be the tastiest plants in the known universe, because they seek them out and end up with their manes and tails completed knotted up in cockleburrs every single time they go outside. In the past, I have spent countless hours carefully detangling their manes and tails for hours on end, until my arms ached, only to have them go right back out the next day and do it all over again. I got so frustrated with my geldings forelocks that I actually took off their forelocks because they just kept getting shorter and shorter every time I detangled them... and so did their and my patience.Then I got this beautiful mare, and she has the most gorgeous (but very thick and coarse) mane and tail. She hadn't been groomed in quite a while when I got her, so her mane especially was twisted into ropes and knotted like you would not believe. There I went again, hours and hours detangling by hand because I was bound and determined not to cut any of it off. I wanted her to stay beautiful and keep her lush mane and tail!Naturally, the very first time she went out, the other horses were kind enough to point the way to the delicious cockleburrs, and she came in COVERED in them. More hours spent pulling them out, one by one, and carefully, tediously, detangling the mess they left behind. A friend suggested to me, after hearing me moan and groan about this process, that I should give Cowboy Magic Detangler a try. She said it would amaze me, and she was right! My mares' mane and tail are, as I said, quite long and thick, so it did take quite a bit of the product the first time I used it... but it made her hair so smooth and slick (and shiny!) that I feel it was worth it. Cockleburr and tangle removal suddenly took only minutes, instead of hours. The horses' attitudes (and mine!) improved because now it was much easier to get a comb and brush through their hair, and it smells just divine. Not a heavy, perfumed fragrance, either, just a nice light pleasant scent. I a 6 inch beard, and it gets tangled up after a night's sleep. Combing it out is a pain, unless I use this stuff. I just wish it came in a smaller container, since the first one I got lasted well over a year.
