Pony wall shower niche
I had a pony wall built in my new shower. Instead of leaving it blank, I added this small niche in there for additional storage for my wife and for her to put her foot on to shave her legs. It's hidden from plain sight, which is nice. She uses a lot of space and products in the shower so this extra storage is nice. It's ready to be tiled on top of, which makes it easy for any GC to get the job done.Highly recommend it. Shipped fast and low cost comparative to others.

Good product, just overpriced for a piece of plastic
I installed this as part of a shower tile project. Good quality product, easy to install. I only knocked it one star due to the price which I feel is overpriced for a cast piece of plastic. In lieu of building a niche from scratch, this makes install very easy. Don't know if it was necessary, but the only "modification" I made was to lightly score numerous cross-hatching in all surfaces with a utility knife to promote better adhesion for the thinset. May not have been an issue, but the surface looked mighty smooth and felt that it couldn't hurt to give the thinset something to bite into a little.

Perfect for our shower renovation
We are DIYers and this was the perfect size. We used two (one on top of another) and they were perfect. Keeps even my full size Costco bottles (vertically). Removes the guesswork in the pitch of the niche too.

saves time
redoing a shower, and got this to ease the installation. its built sturdy. There is a video to watch before you install - shows how to put everything. You will need some waterproof caulk for this model. The backerboard will need to be cutout larger than the liner - and caulk around. So, you may need some additional blocking for the backer board to mount everything firm.I finished up with 2 coats of red guard on the outer perimeter between the insert and backer board to make a water tight seal.

Easy to use, easy to tile and waterproof
Worked great for me. I cut a couple studs and framed it so I could mount the unit horizontally to have more space for shampoo's etc. Could I have built one myself out of cement board, sure, would I sleep well at night knowing it wouldn't leak...not so much. Worth the price paid .
