I love these monkeys. Previously I had bought the purple one and it lasted a month before my dog tore through it and she continued to play with the pieces for about 3 months.My dog loves to chew and when I get a new toy she always wreaks havoc on it. So I've learned to give her the toy briefly, then put it away and wait a day. Then I do it again and slowly increase the time. I think she starts to love the toy more and so is less likely to destroy it. She is also calmer with toys she's already been exposed to. Before I started doing this she would tear through chew guard toys in a day or so.My favorite thing about these monkeys is the tug of war feature. She can grab one foot and I can grab another and when she tugs she feels like she's making progress to steal it from me because of the sliding legs. Then I switch to the opposite foot and the game continues to be fun. I also love that these toys have 5 squeakers total! More squeakers than most the others of this brand at a similar price.This is by far my favorite soft toy for my pup. If you leave your dog alone with any new soft toy, they're gonna destroy it. The chew guard helps with durability over time, so if that's what your looking for, focus on training your pet using short exposure time with new toys. Help them lower their level of excitement when playing with the toy. If they expend all their energy in one sitting, then of course they'll destroy it, regardless of chew guard. As a product, these are far more durable than any other soft toy I've found.

My opinion on this toy is irrelevant. My dog loves this toy and thats all that matters. Its held up for a year and is his go-to *I'm irritated* toy. Whenever he's feeling aggrieved over something (Did'ent get table scraps, get yelled at for something) this toy takes the beating. We suppose he sees it as the pack *beta* because this toy takes an A-whoopin quite often and still keeps trucking. Tough and well made, will buy again once his current monkey needs to be retired due to injury.Mid-2018 Update.Poor Sasquatch is near dead. He's been repaired more times than I can count but he's on his last legs for sure. The toy lasted 2.5 years and is STILL my dogs top go-to toy even in its poor condition. We've searched and searched for a replacement but sadly Quaker does not make the Sasquatch toy any more. (I E-mailed them and was told this product has been discontinued) They are still making the *monkey* variant and we have one of those, our dog plays with it some but his attachment to Sasquatch is strong. We're currently trying to transition him to the monkey toy. Very sad that we can't replace it. I'd give the toy more star's if I could, 2.5 years for a dog toy with a 100lb dog .. can't really go wrong with that. Hoping he moves over to the Monkey toy and gets a couple more years of fun with that one.Added a pic of a 2.5 year old well used toy for reference on how well it held up. This is Begonia's fourth GoDog Chew Guard toy, first monkey. The chickens have all been wornderful, very long lasting, especially the squeakers. That's why I decided to get her another one in the series - there are chickens and chicken parts everywhere, thought I'd get something new.NONE of the five small squeakers in the monkey worked, out of the box. Head, hands and feet all duds. The belly squeaker, her favorite thing in the chickens, is a dud too - tiny little thing that just moves around inside and barely squeakable.I can't imagine why the monkey would be so different from the chickens - but this is the last product I will buy from this company, and I will also stop with the enthusiastic recommendations. Something is different, and wrong.

We have a nine and a half year old Scottish Terrier that loves her toys and loves to play, however, she has some difficulty getting her jaw around things that are too large or too hard to bite down on. We ordered the small black monkey. It only has one squeaker, right in the center (which is the body, beneath the head), and is a very hard ball. It is too difficult for her to bite down on hard enough to make it squeak. She tried and tried and finally got frustrated and no longer likes this toy (even though it's brand new).This would be a better toy for larger dogs or puppies, but I think they would all like more than one squeaker (i.e., smaller squeakers in the hands, feet and head would make this a perfect toy for all!)!

Disappointing in toughness. Cute looking and the dog loves it but within a day he has managed to pull off the ears and rip apart the seam on the body. Arms are good for tug games but for the price and did not live up to the description of being tough.

This is when it came I was rather disappointed with it doesn’t look as though it’ll last five minutes and actually cost 899 which I don’t mind paying for my dogs to have something to play with but I would rather it had been a better quality

Excellent. My dog has destroyed every soft toy we have given him, even those meant for aggressive chewers. This has lost an ear but the rest is intact and still in good condition. Hours of fun and enjoyment have been had, great toy.

monkey lasted a few weeks tail went then arms an legs now just head an body but i can fit treats in holes where arms an legs used to be

Claims to be a “tough” dog toy and brands it’s self on being made from “tough” material. My 5 year old PUG managed to rip the arms apart in 36 hours. That was playing with it once! Avoid like the plague unless you want to waste money!
