Still not enough to make out a plate/ face - but best overall nonetheless
I have had several Blackvue models in my cars over the years. The company is super slow to react to feedback and implement suggestions. They behave like they are willing to accept X% fail rate/ irate portion of their customers. 4K (this model) goes a long way towards making out license plates or a face in footage. But the video is still over sharpened to give the impression of good image quality. I’d like them to increase the bit rate and actually improve image quality. They are facing a ton of competition and people will hesitate before plucking down $500 for a dash cam. 4 stars because it isn’t perfect obviously and because it is still the best overall combination of size, shape, design, image/ video quality and companion app with firmware updates coming through. Try harder please Blackvue.

It does overheat. Get the largest capacity SD card separately.
Great image quality in the day. Parking mode doesn't really sync correctly--I'm not sure of how it determines when it is in parking mode. You should get the largest capacity memory card as the 64GB only retains a fraction of a day of recordings, but not as a package deal. Get the lowest capacity (cheapest) package deal and buy the micro SD separately. Get the SanDisk High Endurance 128GB (~$30 here on Amazon and dropping in price). I learned this the hard way. My BlackVue 64GB micro SD died within 30 days. The issue was brought up with BlackBoxMyCar but I ordered the SanDisk already and it should be here before BlackBoxMyCar resolves anything. If you live in a hot area, this does auto shutdown when it gets hot. A YouTube video mentions this and it has already happened a couple times (beginning of June right now).Video quality is great during the day. Night time behind tinted windows is horrible if there is no ambient lighting. With ambient lighting present, the quality is so-so.Ultimately, I would not get this model again until the overheating and nighttime quality issues are addressed. I'd get the DRS750.

Very expensive and not justified !!!
shoots video really in 4K format. But at night it is very difficult to see in the dark. I think that "Thinkware f800 pro" works much better in the dark, since it has a night vision sensor. My opinion: this thing is not worth your money!
