Kataifi(Gianniotiko) Individually Wrapped with Pistachio (6pcs) 210-230gr

I was very much looking forward to these as I am part Greek and have always loved kataifi. These, however, were nothing like the kataifi I have ever had before. They come individually wrapped and sealed, which was my first surprise, and were very small. On opening they were oozing with syrup. I tried one and have to say it wasn't a pleasant experience. Any flavour they may have had was swamped by the sickly sweet taste of syrup. There seemed to be very little if any of the characteristic "shredded wheat" style outer layer - which should be dry - and the nuts inside were overwhelmed by the syrup. It is a shame because it is very hard to get kataifi in England; I only know of a couple of places in London and these are Greek/Greek cypriot patisseries and coffee shops.

I ordered the kataifi but got baklava instead (although the box said it's kataifi) . I also like baklava, so I didn't send it back, but even the baklava was dry and very little nuts, not good quality. I've tried the brand in Greece and it was delicious, so not sure why the quality was so bad this time. AND I got the wrong thing! Not impressed

Nothing to do with the gianniwtiko I know. I would not recommend at all.
