Heavy ice chest; Performs better than other types of chests; Great for stationary uses.___The south in the summer means HEAT. Your car in a paved sunny parking lot amplifies that heat. Add frozen/refrigerated foods/drinks, and the deterioration that will occur to your foodstuffs is obvious. So we have a regular need for a way to keep things cold. Some of my favorite groceries are some distance away, and that means keeping things cold for transport to the house is why I ordered this.___This chest keeps food much colder than those zippered chill bags, but that comes with a price: This chest is heavy. Check out the weight in the description. Now fill it with milk, frozen items, etcetera, and the weight increases. If you are expecting to move this around when filled, you better have a helper or a handtruck available. Just be aware of that, afterall they DO tell you the weight of this, so don't be surprised. It does come with a carry strap, but I find it too heavy when full to carry that way (you may disagree).___This chest has clamps for locking--that protects against cold loss. The chest is light in color and that also protects against heat loss. This comes with a foam insulating "top piece" that you place atop your items--that keep the cold inside the chest closer to your items, which protects against heat loss from your foodstuffs. The chest is super insulated on ALL 6 sides, and obviously, that is a huge help in preventing heat loss.___This chest, unlike bags, is hard in the inside and easy to clean.___If ice melts, you have the option of draining it from the bottom rather than having to lift/dump the water out of the top of the chest. As an experienced camper, that is huge.___All told, this baby HOLDS THE COLD!!! This would be lovely in a camping/sailing situation.___For camping/sailing, know that this holds a battery operated long rectangular led light that goes on when the lid opens. If you remove the light you can alter it to be a flashlight (e.g. with light off the end of the long rectangular light instead of its normal light on the long side of the rectangle. That's handy at night, in a boat cabin, or even in the back of a van or car.___There are heavy duty bungee cords anchored on the top of this for carrying other items--but carrying such items there would also add to the weight.___There is a bottle opener built into this and a cord provided to tie it to the outside so the opener can't get lost.___The construction on this is excellent--it is built to last and will survive some abuse--even from teenagers, LOL.BOTTOM LINE:___An excellent way to KEEP things cold for a LONG time. Well thought out with useful features and well constructed. It's just heavy--again they do tell you the weight, so I can't deduct for that.NOTE TO MANUFACTURER:___Please consider making an accessory for wheeling this around--it is simply too heavy when loaded for many of us to transport from the car to another site.

Come for the ice retention, stay for the built in light
Wow! To say I'm impressed by this little cooler would be a gross understatement. I have to tell you, in recent months, I have watched an abnormal amount of videos about coolers and their ice retention, as well as looked at who knows how many different reviews about coolers, their features, and respective ice retention.I have a little bit of a hot take that may make me unpopular, but I will say to the vast majority of people (yours truly included) don't NEED a cooler that can hold ice for X amount of days because what we're doing is using it for a quick beach trip, BBQ, or maybe an overnight camping trip. Most of us aren't trekking into the wilderness for 2 weeks at a time and need ice to stay whole in order for us to survive, but rather, we just want our drinks to be cold while I grill a burger. That is to say, the differences between the vast majority of rotomolded coolers is negligible. I know, I know, I too want my soda to be 35.7 F degrees for an insane amount of time just so I can say my cooler can do it, but I don't want to spend more than the down payment of my car to do that. That's where this Titan Pro cooler comes in...I have had a few different products from Titan before, but the "Pro" badge on this cooler is serious. This cooler isn't like the other bags or lunch bags that you have gotten from this company before. It's going toe-to-toe with the big names in coolers, and I can tell you first hand, it more than holds its own. The quality is rugged and this cooler is meant to last the test of time. And that's coming from a fan of that Big Y outdoor company. What sets this cooler apart is two things: 1. Price 2. Features.1. Look, it isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. For this quality, it is very much in the same price point as other coolers out there. That's not to say that you're not going to hesitate for a quick second and say, "Oooooooh, do I really wanna spend that much on a cooler," but if you do it, you're going to be happy. Penny for penny, the performance of this cooler beats other coolers of the same caliber, but cost two to three times less than other big names.2. Features. WOW! This is really where this cooler just sets itself apart from other coolers at any price point. The real seller and sort of ridiculous (in a good way) feature is the light that acts as a fridge light when you open the lid of the cooler! If that wasn't enough, it acts as a flashlight or a mini lantern. Come on with the come on! And if you don't want to use that feature, just flip the light and it'll turn it off. Genius. Also, there are bungee cords built into the top of the cooler so you can hold towels, plates, anything you'd like, and not accidentally have anything slide off the top. The bungees are removable, but I don't know if they have proprietary hooks that if something happens to them, you need to buy specific Titan brand cords. The lid locks are strong. They snap into place, maybe even a little aggressively to the point where you're not going to be able to sneak anything out of there and close the lid again. The little drain plug is easy to grab and turn, which isn't always the case on other coolers. The slot for the bottle opener is a nice little addition. The only feature that I'm not entirely sold on yet is the little blue "ice saver" lid inside of the lid. The idea is that circulating air is what causes ice to melt and temperature to rise, so this little blue foam lid sits flush to the drinks/ice and will keep the ice frozen longer because it keeps the air out. The issue is the lid itself. It's made out of a thin foam that is meant to be swung open, but because there is no weight to it, most of the time you end up pulling the whole thing out and because it's being held in place with friction, so it's hard to get it in at an angle that is actually useful. Most of the time I get frustrated with trying to get it just right that I don't even use it. I like the idea, but the execution is missing the mark, I feel. If the foam was a little thicker, if it fit either more snugly or less snugly, had more weight or something to hold in place, then it would be a winner. As it stands, it's fine. The shoulder strap is a tank. It's adjustable and is thick.I have to say, I love this little cooler and I am looking for excuses to take it with me everywhere I go. The other issue which is not exclusive to this cooler is that for as big as it is, it doesn't hold as much as I'd like because the foam walls are so thick. With the thick walls also comes weight. It's heavy. There's no two ways about it. Until the majority of companies start releasing a double-walled vacuum sealed aluminum cooler, if you want good thermal performance, then rotomolded and foam is going to be the answer. I had this thing in a hot garage for hours with two ice packs, then in my hot car in SoCal with the same ice packs, went to the store, got frozen shrimp and salmon, took an hour detour, got home and the contents were still frozen rock solid. Performance is second to none, and if you are looking for a small-ish cooler with bells and whistles, this is it. When you over-engineer a cooler, you're going to knock it out of the park. Great job, Titan!
