Buck wheat
A good item but a little expensive compared to health food shops. But needed urgently and this was free next day delivery by 1pm with Prime.

Mash
A bit pricey and it becomes as a smooth mash. Each to their own taste, but i love when buckwheats stay as a buckwheats and dont become like a smooth mash. Taste is good tho

Would not buy it again
I eating buckwheat for more than 30 years and first time i received so strange buckwheat. When I boil it usually its came in beautiful porridge when each grain lay separate (like a rice). This buckwheat from beginning of cooking was strange..its sticks together in gloopy mass and its was more like porridge oats..but more sticky. My child refused to eat it, I tried it and didnt like it either. First time in my life I didnt like my favourite food. Now I feeding my pet with it as its only who didnt refuce it so far. Sad, really sad. Other organic food from this company was good (like rice and oats)..but buckwheat is No no :(

Well cleaned and good quality + Tip if it's getting mushy for you
Very nicely cleaned, no scraps (shells etc).Instead of boiling buckwheat as you would rice, soak them! This way it will not get mushy. For 2 people as a side, take about a tea mug worth of buckwheat, wash it and put in a microwave friendly dish (glass casserole dish with lid or medium sized bowl that can be covered with a plate). Pour the same amount of water (1 mug in this case) of boiling water over it and put the lid/plate on the dish. Leave it for at least an hour, can stay overnight too. Then before you eat it, heat it in the microwave for 5-7 minutes on the highest setting.

Very disappointed
I've been using kasha in my homemade muesli for over four years and this is the first time I've been thoroughly disappointed. I thought they were much darker than normal but unfortunately I never thought about trying them before I added them to my 9 litre box of muesli. They have obviously been over-roasted, as they are so hard they could break my teeth. I can't remove them and the muesli is too expensive to bin so I have to be really careful when I eat my muesli. I'll be more careful in future but will bin the rest of the packet. 750g wasted!

Super quality and flavour.
Lovely taste - nicely roasted to save time home-roasting. Good quality buckwheat. This can be hard to find either roasted or raw in the shops as I don't think it is a very popular item. But I'm glad to find someone who sells this for reasonable prices online. I will buy it again but there is so much in the pack - a replenishment may not be needed for 2 years! So 5 stars for a very good product.

Doesn’t cook well as usual buckwheat from post Soviet Union countries
I should have read reviews before buying this product. It does not soak milk/fluids well when soaking and doesn’t make usual beautiful “grechka”. I’m not sure why but wouldn’t recommend if buying for cooking and soaking it.Interestingly, it tastes delicious dry… usual roasted buckwheat isn’t easy or tasty to eat before cooked. I might try to eat 2kg of roasted buckwheat just as a snack I guess! It’s a shame as all other products from this company are delicious.Perhaps they could recommend how to cook.., make it as seems to be different!

Listing states gluten-free (buckwheat IS GF!!!), package gives a warning
The star rating is based on the listing and the packaging - not on the buckwheat because I have not dared to eat it yet, though there really should be no reason to even consider not diving straight in. But there is: it's on the package. Those of us who have to live gluten-free for medical reasons have long eaten buckwheat - it's yummy! And as the Amazon listing states, it is naturally GF as buckwheat is totally unrelated to wheat. However... the packaging warns that it might contain gluten and other potential allergens! What the heck???? While we know that is is most likely a way for businesses to avoid any liability, why the heck. Really. Why the heck do I and others who MUST avoid gluten find this kind of warning on a package of something that we know really, really, REALLY should be gluten-free. By nature it's without gluten. Does it mean that the folks who harvest and package it don't know what they are doing or just don't care enough to keep buckwheat separate? Is it just to protect themselves from a lawsuit? Is it just a generic label that might seem like a careful warning - you eat anything at all on this planet and it's at your own risk? DOES THE LABEL WRITER HAVE ANY CLUE WHAT THIS DOES TO A CELIAC WHO HAS JUST ORDERED A SAFE, GF FOOD????Now I and others who must not eat gluten must assess the risk - do we trust the listing, or the label? Do we trust the product, or the cleanliness/correctness of the packaging process? We really, really shouldn't have to waste time worrying about this, nor writing reviews that are less than stellar for a natural, gluten-free seed that has been used safely for centuries.#fixyourpackaging #rantover
