Q: The title says it includes 5 huggers & in description says there is bonus of an additional banana hugger. Where is the 6th one?

This is a set of five food huggers which includes a unique Banana Hugger. The small yellow hugger is the banana hugger which comes along with 4 other huggers. In all, you get a set of five food huggers.

Q: How long do they last?

I've had mine a year. Still in good shape, but I'm not very fond of using them. It's hard to find food to fit, and I find if I've got a cucumber or zucchini the part of the vegetable that is not covered rots much faster than a regular container that protects the entire piece. Same with tomatoes. I found some good food bags that can be washed and reused work better. They are on Amazon

Q: Is this enough of an air tight seal to keep a presliced apple from browning? Thinking kids lunches.

Great question! It'll all depend on how it's sliced. If you nest the exposed side of the apple inside the Food Hugger, the apple will stay fresh and kid-approved! We recommend cutting the apple in half and then cutting each half into wedges. Put the wedges back together and secure the bottom with a Food Hugger. Make sure the Food Hugger fits tightly around the apple to keep the wedges from falling out.
