I wonder if the reviewer who said that these worked for a few times, but then the machine stopped working with the refilled capsules had actually trimmed off the small amount of excess foil round the edges. You DO need to do this, and be sure the bar codes under the capsule rims are not obscured by foil. Then they work beautifully. The coffee still has a good crema, and the process of filling and resealing the capsules is not onerous, or even particularly fiddly. I sit down with a good audiobook on and do a batch while I’m listening. Saves me a packet. (And I may be a coffee philistine, but I can’t tell the difference from the pricey branded ones!!).

Exactly what I was expecting

The first time using is a bit brutal because you have to try to peel off the original seals but after that it is so simple. Production line of 12 pods to fill done in no time. Allows your choice of coffee, saves a lot of money and works perfectly as long as you do not cover the bar code. With the amount of coffee we go thru this is essential.

The kit works great. We simply clean out and reuse an existing Nespreso Virtuo coffee capsule. It is easy to fill with fresh coffee and the foil top has adhesive on the edges to adhere to the capsule. Make sure the foil top edges do not obscure the bar code on the underside of the capsule lip, otherwise the machine can't read the code and it won't work.
