Q: How wide is the skiver blade? Would like to skiv a 1.5" piece of leather in one pass.

Hi. In answer to your question, the blade itself is 1 1/2", (1.5"), wide. The effective cutting width when affixed to the tool appears to be 1 5/32" at best. The tool has good heft to it and if your leather is firmly secured you might get close to what your target is. Try it on a scrap piece first. Good Luck, Joe D.

Q: Is this a flat or curved skivver ?

Sorry skecksstore but this skiver has a curved bottom. Not sure what you looked at but your info is incorrect. I cancelled mine because of your answer, I bought a flat faced skiver. Once I held it on my hand at the Tandy store and saw it was curved, I cancelled my order from Amazon.

Probably not the best. Sheepskin is soft works best on firm stuff.
