Just what I wanted! This set is lovely. It feels nice to hold and is easy to use. Understand this is not a huge mortar, so if you want to use it for cooking and have many portions, this is not the right thing for you. But, it is perfect for grinding up pills and small amounts of herbs. I am guessing that it has about 1/4-1/2 cup capacity at the most when full (and you wouldn’t want to fill it). The set is beautiful and would make a great gift. It feels sturdy and makes a pleasant sound when you use it.Someone asked about the inside, so I am posting a pic of it. It is smooth, but not slippery.

This mortar & pestle is pretty & well made. However, using it to crush pills did not work. The crushed pills stuck to the surface of the mortar & pestle. This wasted much of the pills. Since this was my primary use for this product, I returned it.

It was broken when I opened it
