Blast of a summer read
This was a fun book I inherited birkins and will be selling for sure all but one of them which I’ll keep for my step daughter the business practices this book uncovers about Hermes I find disgusting I won’t shop there for any scarves bags or blankets or other items again

Such a good read
I had no clue what a Birkin was. A friend recommended the book and I couldn’t put it down. Well written, entertaining and interesting. I would never want one but found the whole process of securing them fascinating.

A delightful adventure told by a most charming narrator
I'd been a little blue lately - the monotonous grind of workaday life - and I was looking for a pick-me-up. Immediately, Michael's charming narrative won me over. While the running theme of the book is the incredible (and bizarre) world of luxury goods, it's really a most unusual adventure. Michael - I feel like we're on a first name basis - is personable and charming, making his prose read like an intimate chat. In a short five years, Michael experienced international espionage, life and death situations, coveted automobiles, and personal tragedy, all at some of the most breathtaking destinations. And he takes you there, too! Michael is now my travel mentor. When the story moves to a new location, Michael draws the reader in with rich descriptions that go beyond sight and sound. Through it all, Michael is witty and optimistic.I recommend this book to anyone seeking an unusual, light-hearted adventure, peppered with vivid snapshots of an extraordinary (and for many of us, distant) world.
