Wonderful little dashcam!
EDIT: I should also mention that I've owned this cam since August 2016, or approximately 10 months from the time of me writing this review. Never had any issues with the cam. Some other recent reviews say the latest firmware messes with the cam. I haven't done this upgrade so can't confirm but if you do have an issue with the latest firmware simply download/install a previous, stable version (same principles for your computer). After spending several hours researching different dash cams I wound up getting this one and don't regret it.I love the size and shape of the cam. It's small, sleek, and streamlined and doesn't scream, "I'm a dashcam!" like so many others out there. Additionally, I don't need an LCD screen and a million buttons on the cam. What I'm seeing out my car window makes an LCD screen redundant as I know what the cam is seeing/recording already. I just need it to do a few things: Look relatively discrete, record well, and be reliable. This hits all three notes. You can put a luggage lock on the cam to prevent people removing the SD card which is nice. Once you put a SD card in the cam automatically installs the BlackVue software onto the card for the next time you place it in your computer (the software can be used to review footage and, most importantly, tweak settings). Even if you use a new card or reformat it the cam will always re-install the software so you never have to worry about that. You can adjust the settings on this cam pretty well: Turn on/off certain voice and beep notifications, enable/disable LED lights, change it's recording sensitivities, etc.The cam uses capacitors instead of a lithium ion battery which I also love. Capacitors have a higher heat tolerance meaning they're less likely to explode due to extreme heat (and cars can get hot in the summer) versus the lithium ions. An internal battery is used to give the cam enough juice properly "end" the current recording when you yank out the power cord otherwise that last video clip would be corrupt when trying to go back and view it.The cord is plenty long and the cam can be swiveled on a single axis for recording height adjustments.USE THE POWER MAGIC PRO accessory if you buy this cam/brand. The PMP allows you to record even when your car is parked. You can adjust how long you want it to record after you park (from 6 hours to infinite). What makes the PMP so special though is that it constantly checks your car's battery voltage. If you battery goes below a certain threshold the cam turns itself off to prevent it from completely draining your battery. Most other cams that offer "parking mode" recording don't do this. All in all I love this little cam. Worth the investment. It was installed myself.

It's practically invisible
This dashcam is a bit more expensive than some of it's competitors, but I am impressed by what it does. Comparatively, it's a simpler design, without any kind of screen to see what is being recorded. However, that was a feature that I sought, as I wanted a dashcam that was as unobtrusive to the driving experience as possible. It fits behind the rearview mirror and is basically invisible to the driver. It's got a pair of LEDs that indicate power and GPS. There's a voice that says, "Normal recording started" and "Powering off." Other than that, it's practically invisible, which is what I want. It's not a driving distraction, yet it's comforting to know that it's working and "on duty." The video that it records is fine. It's not like I'm trying to use it as an action camera. To me, it's a safety device, not accessory. The only slight nit is that the supplied power adapter may be a tad short for some vehicles. In my Toyota Tacoma, it was the perfect length, but there was no extra cord to spare.

It works great, i am glad i went for this one instead of many of the other brands.1. It looks great, specially if you hardwire it.2. The recoding definition if really good during the day at night.3. I feel secure when i leave my car parked overnight. I would recommend you also getting the Magic Pro battery if you are going to keep it on at all times.

Day recording is just fine, and you can read license plates
I bought this because the first camera I tried did not record in the Texas Heat. I also wanted something more discreet. This fits the bill for both. Night recording is not exactly crystal clear but I guess that's to be expected. Day recording is just fine, and you can read license plates. I would never drive without a dashcam nowadays.

Great idea if you want it just in case of an accident. I don't log my trips and view after so this is perfect. If I'm in an accident I just pull out the micro SD and I bought an adapter to plug into my phone to view for an officer if needed.
