I was searching for a replacement dash cam since my current budget dash cam, which has started failing after a year. I owed two B40 dash cams in the past so I decided to look for its successor and found this VIOFO A129 Pro Duo. The price will give you sticker shock, but when compared to a Thinkware U1000 or Blackvue DR900S, the price is very competitive and you will not be disappointed.This dash cam has very good day time recording, but night time recording is very grainy, like any other dash cam on the market. I like the GPS mount vice having a separate receiver mounted somewhere, but it does make the already bulky dash cam much more bulky. The only place i could find to install this is on the passenger side of the rear view mirror due to it's bulkiness, but it's a small price to pay for this 4K dash cam.Make sure you update this to the latest firmware v1.1 to resolve the recording issues when using Wi-Fi. I found the firmware and instructions online and it was pretty easy to update.The CPL filter isn't required, but highly recommended on both the front and rear cameras.If you want to use parking mode, then you need to also buy the hardwire kit.

Well $250 isn't exactly budget. But there are basically the crappy non-name Chinese stuff. Then there are the big names like Blackvue or Thinkware that are $600. Viofo slots right in between. Viofo is a Chinese company but they have a pretty good rep for dash cams and action cams. At $250 they deliver a dual channel 4K front 1080 rear that compares favorably to the $600+ big hitters.The biggest seller for me was the buffered parking mode. The camera records 15 seconds of footage over and over again to RAM. If an event occurs (movement of G-force event) the last buffered 15 seconds is written to the card. Most of the cheaper cameras can't do this and only start recording after sensing a g-force event. They'll miss the actual impact. But do note, that to use this parking mode you must hardwire the camera with a 3-wire wiring kit.

Quality of picture day n night is great.After about a week wifi was the issue. I could turn it on and connect to the app, it would error out n basically lock up to the point I had to power the camera off.I reset the camera, it'd work once or twice n start it again. I tried 2.4 & 5Ghz.I bought the 1080P A129 Duo and I've had no issues with a very nice quality.

This camera has suprised all of my expectations. You get full 4K HD on the front cam, with 1080P on the rear. You can manage the camera via the screen itself or via the mobile app. You get, I believe, dual channel wifi options to manage your video's as well and it supports up to 256GB micro SD memory card. The primary feature that I required was a 24/7 parking mode, where the camera is on 24/7, video taping on both cameras ,but not storing the video...UNTIL a selected "trigger" occurs. You select the "trigger", that could be a bump on the vehicle or some motion in front of the camera...and you can even select the intensity of the "trigger". The amazing feature of Viofo's parking mode is the fact that the recorded trigger video is buffered. That means that when the trigger happens, the camera does NOT record from that exact point in time. It records the video from 15 seconds PRIOR to the trigger event. So you can see the events BEORE it happens, not after. There are lots of other features, but that was key for me. In short, it was the best camera for the price for all of the options I required.

Awesome during the day, at night and God forbid it's raining even with a polarizing len attachment it's not good. Make sure you update the camera firmware, Instructions are in the manual. 3 wire hardware kit is a awesome together with a gps mount. Was only able to update on windows 7 for the camera update....
