For me it's more trouble than it's worth, regrettably
First some context. After owning a Zebra LP 2844 Thermal Printer and using it daily with adhesive 4"x6" labels, I'm a convert to thermal printers. So I don't have null experience with how much of a pain to set up they can be. The upside of an ubiquitous printer like the LP 2844 is that you'll find a wealth of information about it online on how to set it up - with this unit, not so much. After trying to use it for a month, I mostly give up. To be clear, it is far from unusable. When it works, it works mostly fine. But using it is so much of a hassle, that I'd rather not. I haven't found a satisfactory way to print labels from a PC. The native option sucks (Bartender program, or something like that), and with Microsoft Word I've only been able to get the labels to print Vertically (instead of horizontally) on Landscape labels, which is completely useless. With the LP2844 I could do that with ease. I have however got it to print more or less okay when printing PDFs from Adobe Acrobat, for what it's worth, but doing so eliminates a lot of versatility if I just want to create a label on the fly.The native app is MLabel (for thermal labels on Android), and it's usable, but not great. Mainly, it's slow to use and awkward to control on a phone screen compared to a mouse and keyboard on a PC. If you need to print out hundreds of the same label its fine, but for labels in small batches it isn't as convenient. In the end, considering that most of time times I need these small labels it's as a nice touch and not as a necessity, I'm not sure this unit is easy enough to make it worth my time. It's a pity. If you need a thermal label to use for pretty basic things, this probably will probably serve you fine. The price is right, the features are right, the quality is decent, and the design is good... but it just isn't as versatile as I'd like in the end. At least not when compared to your standard LP2844 (which isn't in the same category, admittedly). Oh well. At least I tried.Notes:- The app doesn't use a password. I don't recall the username but leave the password blank when trying to sign in.- To configure the printer to the label size so it spaces them correctly, hold down the button on the right.
