Most comfortable knife for big jobs
I make my dogs food, so once every 5 weeks I cut up about 60lbs of meat. Before getting this knife my hand would be sore for days after that task. As my hand got tired I would find myself moving it farther and farther up the handle. When I found this kinfe I knew this could be the answer. I was a bit concerned that at the low price it would not be quality steel but that is not the case. This is a heavy duty blade with a nice polish and very sharp. I have used it several times and it is still very sharp, and my hand is no longer sore after cutting. You will not be dissapointed with this knife. It's also fine for small cutting jobs. You normally would not use a knife this size for cutting something like a onion but if you have issues with your grip or 20 onions to cut up this is your knife. I love it!

OK fine pretty good. I'll get some use out of it.
I like it.It seems to cut where I aim it.Poor choice of words, but gripping the handle of a conventional knife, when I put downward pressure on the knife to cut something, the knife may tend to roll a bit. With this knife, the axis of the wrist is offset from the axis of the cutting blade. I think this makes the knife more stable in a vertical plane. In other words, the knife doesn't try to roll on you.It comes pretty sharp. I haven't tried to sharpen it yet.I have used it to cut vegetables and meat.I cut some warm london broil very thin for beef tacos. The high handle keeps my knuckles off the cutting boardMagnets stick to it. They can be difficult to remove. The blade rings a bit when rapped against something hard. It's bright steel, but I wouldn't reccomend being careless with it. I don't know if it will rust.

A great knife
I really like this knife. As others have said, it arrives very sharp and has kept it's edge so far through a few months of use. The placement of the handle really does give extra leverage when you are trying to cut down through large, dense objects like a block of cheese or a head of cabbage. It feels safer as well since you all of your cutting force is pushing straight down from the top with a large handle that provides a sure grip for your hand rather than most knifes where you hold a narrow handle at an angle off to the side that doesn't provide as secure a grip. I hope to see more knives in the future that use this concept for handle placement. The only negative and reason that I gave 4 stars, is the construction of the handle. It's a full metal tang with a piece of wood like material attached on each side to form the grip. On my knife, the wood like pieces that form the grip, don't completely enclose the top side of the tang. It's very slight, but you basically have a tiny sliver of the tang that sticks up from the grip material.Since it's just on the top side and a very slight protrusion, it's hardly noticeable when you are using the knife. The grip still feels solid overall, so I don't get the sense that the two side pieces are going to come off anytime soon. It's more of a quality control issue than anything else.

Excellent cleaver. Very sharp!
My husband wanted a cleaver to cut up carne Asada and steak when he bbq’s. We found this one and definitely found the price very reasonable. We bought one and it is very sharp and works great for our purpose. We have now ordered 2 more. One for the garage grill, one for the kitchen and one for the RV! Definitely recommend this item. I was surprised at how quickly it arrived since it appears to be from China and we waited 2 months for a Christmas toy.

Very sharp and well balanced knife gets the job done!
Feels well balanced in the hand with it’s nice full tang design. I use it mainly to chop up fruit like apples for cooking. So easy to use and stays very sharp. Three months of daily use and still just as sharp. Very pleased and would absolutely recommend to the “average” cook! However, it seems like pro quality to me in my “unprofessional” opinion!

Can be useful in the kitchen.
Arrived with the the wooden handle lose and the rivets proud of the wood surface. After filling gaps with epoxy and filing rivets down to be flush with the wood, the "knife" felt balanced and was a help when chopping firm veggies. Somewhat useful but would not be missed if all you had was a good chef's knife.

Good idea, loose construction
I love the idea, but the riveted wooden handle is not secure. Single piece of steel would have been better. The shape and balance is a design plus, but the loose fitting wooden handle just makes it feel cheap.

Easy on my hands
I have a catering business and do a lot of chopping. It is very hard on my hands. I love, love, love this knife. It is very ergonomic and easy on my hands. It is also fairly light for it's size. It is so easy to chop and then use it to scoop up the stuff to toss into a pot. It is definitely our new go to in the kitchen. Could not be happier with my purchase.
